One of the daily tasting options includes a traditional wine tasting inside the casual atmosphere of their Lodge. This indoor, guided tasting includes six award-winning wines. This March, they are featuring their 2022 Riesling. Savor the refreshing essence of this wine, where delicate notes of citrus blossom and Meyer lemon tantalize the senses, leading to luscious flavors of apricot and pineapple. The grapes were sourced from multiple vineyards in Washington’s esteemed Columbia Valley, an area known for its exceptional Riesling cultivation. After a gentle extraction process, the fresh Riesling juice went through a slow, cold fermentation at 54°F in stainless steel tanks, enhancing its inherent fruitiness. Fermentation was halted before reaching dryness, preserving a hint of natural sugar to balance the wine’s natural acidity. While this Riesling is delightful for immediate enjoyment with its vibrant citrus and nectarine notes, aging reveals a transformation to mellower flavors reminiscent of green tea and honey, offering a nuanced evolution worth savoring. This specific vintage has won seven awards, including Best of Class at the 2023 East Meets West Wine Competition, a Platinum medal at the 2023 Finger Lakes Wine Competition, and a Double Gold medal at the 2024 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Ideal for a variety of cuisines, this semi-sweet, fruit-forward wine complements a wide range of dishes, including cheese platters, seafood, sushi, East Asian fare, crisp salads, as well as chicken and turkey dishes, making it a versatile addition to any dining experience. Arrington Vineyards specifically recommends pairing the wine with a Thai Peanut Chicken Wrap. 

 

Although the 2022 Riesling is the wine currently featured, Arrington Vineyards offers twenty-four different award-winning wines, ensuring that there is a wine for every guest’s taste. Their menu ranges from sparkling wines to barrel-aged dry reds to sweet fruit wines. With spring just around the corner, the winery property is about to be in full swing with its live music and food truck schedule. Music in the Vines is a live music event every Saturday and Sunday, April through December, featuring Jazz and Bluegrass on separate stages. Food Truck Fridays occur from May through October and feature a variety of food trucks and live music.

 

The winery also has one of the largest wine clubs in the nation. The Club is free to join, and members receive special benefits, including discounts and access to special events and reserve wines.
