Chosen from over two hundred other applicants, Matt Rogers has become the 2021 Voice of the Tennessee Titans. Matt was a former offensive lineman at the University of Washington and was a finalist on the third season of American Idol. In addition to working with the Titans, he hosts a podcast, “LEVEL UP with Matt Rogers,” and owns an event company where he provides MC and Auctioneer services for various nonprofits throughout the nation. His nine-to-five job involves running the payroll and HR division for a payroll company. Being the Voice of the Titans allows him to put his stamp on the energy of our home games and change the environment. “I want to create an environment where Nashville is FINALLY a tough place to win a game for opposing teams,” Matt says.

Matt has been married to Teri Rogers for sixteen years. They have three children together, Brayden, Mason and Sam. His two youngest children were diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth but have been “miraculously healed” and he says he owes everything to God and the CF Foundation. Matt is involved with over one hundred organizations nationwide as their fundraising expert and MC. Additionally, his family is personally involved with the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation since his children were diagnosed at birth. Matt and his daughter Sam appeared on The Ellen Show to bring awareness about living with Cystic Fibrosis. His family also hosts a private event every year in Franklin called Rock the Roses. All the proceeds go towards the CF Foundation. Being present and creating great moments with his family is Matt’s number one priority. Matt and his wife go on kid-free trips roughly once a month, which he wants everyone to know is a very important part of a successful marriage. As well as kid-free vacations, his whole family goes camping in their fifth wheel multiple times a month and will be on the road for about six weeks before football season starts.

Matt has been interested in sports from a very early age. He was a fan of the Houston Oilers at the age of seven when they were his first Pop Warner team and he then followed them to Nashville. His first job in the sports industry was reporting sideline commentary with Turner Sports for their Saturday college football game days. Many years later, Matt competed in the Titans competition for choosing their next announcer. It was always his childhood dream to work in this industry and he explained that “as I got older, every Titans game I attended, I would thank God that I worked there even before it happened.”

The average day for Matt, during the season and off-season, looks a little different. During the season Matt has to arrive at games four hours before kickoff to attend production meetings, media meetings, team meetings and creative meetings. Once the game begins, he makes announcements the entire game. These typically revolve around player introductions, big plays, general housekeeping, and sponsorships. In the off-season, he is still announcing at Nissan Stadium for other events. When asked what his advice is for any aspiring sports announcer, he says “be passionate about your team and don’t try to be like other announcers. You were born an original, don’t die a copy! I believe I earned this job over others because I was different.”

Matt is inspired to work harder, be better and do more because of inspiration. “God-given potential inspired me,” he explains. “Knowing that ‘I have NEVER arrived’ and God ALWAYS has more for me. I believe the reason we spend eternity somewhere when we die is that it is going to take an eternity for God to draw out everything he has put in us!”
