This year marks the 32^nd playing of the Olympic Games, taking place a year after their scheduled date in 2020. Still branded as the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXXII Olympiad,is an international multi-sport event being held from July 23^rd to August 8^th in Tokyo, Japan, with some preliminary events that began on July 21^st.

“Faster, Higher, Stronger” is the Olympics motto.

The Host Country team is the last to enter the arena during the Parade of Nations at the
Opening Ceremony.  

An Olympic gold medal is mostly made of silver. 

Approximately 200 countries compete in
the Olympics.

Six new sports were added to the Olympics this year: surfing, karate, sport climbing, skateboarding, baseball and softball.
