Jenna Ratliff, a Franklin resident, is making her house a home one project at a time by taking her twenty-five-year-old home and slowing transforming it into her dream home. When she isn’t chasing after her two-year old son, Neyland, or holding her newborn, River, she enjoys styling her home, while also trying hard to keep it child-proofed! Jenna’s family of four, along with her two pups, keep her very busy! Jenna’s style is modern farmhouse with a touch of bohemian.

Having studied fashion merchandising in college, she decided to follow her heart and turn to interior design. Jenna says “I have always had an eye for home styling and have been creative ever since I was little. I remember rearranging my parents living room furniture all of the time when they were in the pool or outside. My poor mom would come back in the house after ten minutes of leaving me alone and have a completely different living room!”

Now a mother of two young boys, she is turning her focus to baby proofing the home of her dreams while still keeping the décor of her home styled in a way that doesn’t necessarily scream out that she is, in fact, a mother of two young boys.

Decorating for Christmas can be a challenge when you have small children in the house, as Jenna quickly came to realize. This holiday season, however, Jenna took on that challenge. Jenna decided to keep things traditional by using pops of red, while also keeping the home kid friendly, in a unique way, for Christmas. Jenna, like many of us, want the best of both worlds when it comes to enjoying our holiday decorations while also being aware of how those same decorations can be enticing for a youngster to gravitate towards. This season, Jenna’s style includes having zero ornaments on her trees, pillows as a tree skirt, and all of the breakables out of reach of little, curious fingers. Jenna states “Don’t feel like you have to have ornaments on all of your trees. Sometimes, a minimal look is also beautiful in its own way. You can still decorate for Christmas just like you always have. Don’t feel like just because you have small children, you can’t enjoy decorating for the holiday season.”
