On July 14, we attended the Chauhan x Soundbound Tequila Brunch! We were treated to a multi-course brunch with bespoke cocktail pairings featuring Southbound tequila - curated and presented by Chef Maneet Chauhan. 15% of all ticket sales profits were donated to Best Buddies, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Chauhan Ale & Masala House opened in November of 2014. Co-owner and Executive Chef Maneet Chauhan is a highly-accomplished Chef who also has restaurants in Chicago and New York. She also serves as a Judge on Food Network's Chopped.
Ivey Childers founded the popular IveyCake bakery in Nashville in 2007. Known for her 40+ cake flavors, she gained media attention and support from top musicians. Ivey's passion led her to create Southbound tequila after years of perfecting tequila-based cocktails.
Here's what we got to taste:
Course One: Mint Chutney Guacamole paired with the Southbound Tequila Spritz
Course Two: Tandoori Chicken Tamale paired with a Southbound Tequila Paloma
Course Three: Fiesta Meat & Three paired with a Mirchi Margarita
Dessert: Mango Cardamom Flan paired with a Horchata
The event included a panel led by Kelly Sutton with women-owned business leaders Maneet Chauhan, Ivey Childers, and Amanda Frederickson.
