“Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.”
Dear Readers,
There is just something about a wedding. As I come to a place in life where many of my friends’ children are getting married…mine are still in diapers…but alas… I am now attending the weddings of children I knew when THEY were in diapers and the sight of that transformation, from a child to an adult doing one of the single most important things they will do in life, and sharing in the joy that surrounds that moment, is a profoundly moving thing. When my best friend’s son got married this last fall, I had that mix of emotions where I wanted to be sure she was handling it all ok; being so very proud of the young man she had raised and so very happy to see him marry his true love; and of course, feeling…well old. Not old exactly…but sentimental. Weddings do that too. They make you remember all the things…your own love story, your own journey to the altar and your own marriage vows.
As we share with you our latest edition of Distinctively Southern Wedding, everyone in our office has enjoyed having a little bit of romance and roses in our midst for the last few weeks. Combining all the beauty and heartfelt sentiment of our many real wedding profiles, we also got to showcase our version of the Dating Game – for dogs and cats of the WCAC – and offer up your potential four-legged Valentine for this year. Who doesn’t love slobbery kisses and furry hugs?
This issue affords us so much to cover its oddly incredible since we usually think of the winter months, post-holiday, as quiet and dark and calm. But not in Williamson County! There are events galore and plenty of holidays to celebrate as well. Do not forget to see which prediction Mr. Phil goes with this year!
It’s a new year, Williamson County! Get ready and get set – because it’s going to be epic!
Cheers!
